current kernel [solved]

Post by colin »

hello to all,

I'm confused ...

just installed voidlinux two times - one on bare metal, one on VBox, both the same iso
took the original xfce-version from the homepage voidlinux.org

on hard disk there is kernel 6.3 and no possibility to change it - did try update, and installing the 6.6 = no succes, even deleting (vkpurge) 6.3 failes
on VBox there is kernel 6.6

don't understand that.... :(

"Have you tried to turn it off and on again?"

Joking aside .... have you tried to run update-grub manually after upgrade? Or were you unable to install the 6.6 kernel at all?

How do you boot the kernel?

Could you install the 6.6 kernel without problems?
- If yes, how do you boot it?
- If no, what does xbps say? Errormessage(s)?
